  • All major credit and debit cards
  • Cash
  • Personal checks
  • CareCredit

Your smile is important to us, and we're here to help you achieve and maintain a healthy, confident one on your terms.

CareCredit

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that allows you to pay for dental treatment over time with special financing options, often including zero-interest plans if paid in full within the promotional period. It’s a convenient way to get the care you need now and manage the cost in monthly payments.

Insurance

Dr. Jonathan Swope is committed to making high-quality dental care accessible and understandable no matter your insurance status

We Accept All PPO Insurance Plans (Out-of-Network)

We gladly work with all PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network provider.

That simply means we don’t have a formal contract with your insurance company but you can absolutely still be our patient.

Many of our patients choose to stay with us because of the trust, personalized care, and comfort they’ve built with Dr. Swope and our team.

What “Out-of-Network” Really Means

  • You still have coverage: Most PPO plans provide out-of-network benefits.
  • Many plans even reimburse at the same rate as in-network—we’re happy to help you check your specific plan.
  • You can use HSA or FSA funds to help cover any out-of-pocket costs.
  • We’ll provide superbills (detailed receipts) to support reimbursement if needed.
  • We’re here to guide you—you don’t have to navigate insurance alone.

Understanding Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is designed to assist with the cost of treatment and rarely covers the full amount.

Most plans cover only 50–80% of typical dental fees. The actual amount depends on:

  • The coverage level chosen by your employer
  • What your insurance company deems “allowable” or “usual and customary” (UCR)
  • The type of plan and premiums paid

It’s a common misconception that insurance should cover 100%but we’re here to help you understand your benefits and maximize them.

Our Office Policy Regarding Dental Insurance

We’re happy to file claims electronically on your behalf if we’ve received your insurance information before your appointment. This speeds up processing so your insurance provider typically receives the claim within a few days.

Please note:

  • By law, insurance companies are required to pay claims within 30 days of receipt.
  • We collect from you the estimated portion not covered by insurance at the time of your visit.
  • If your insurance pays more than expected, we’ll promptly refund you.
  • If a balance remains after 30 days, you are responsible for the outstanding amount—regardless of insurance payment status.

A Courtesy, Not a Contract

Please understand: filing insurance is a courtesy we provide to support our patients.

We are not in contract with your insurance provider, you are. This means:

  • We cannot control how your insurance company handles claims or what they choose to cover.
  • We do not guarantee coverage or payment amounts.
  • We do our best to estimate your out-of-pocket costs, but the final responsibility lies with the patient.

We also cannot be held responsible for claim errors made by your insurance company. But rest assured, we’re always here to help you make sense of it and advocate for your care.
